This premium BMW sport touring motorcycle comes with lots of little extras and sounds absolutely wicked when revved up! Its pipes are not obnoxiously loud but they are definitely not sewing-machine quiet either--nor should they be. This inline six cylinder BMW-powered machine is 38,179 miles from new. Overall, its condition is VERY good and the bike rides perfectly. There are a few rock nicks, smudges, and other small abrasions here and there, as one would expect after five years on the road. The headlight seems to have attracted the most rocks over the years, so we have included a close-up pic of the absolute worst damage we could find.
This bike has no electronic suspension but rather a very nice aftermarket setup. The rear shock is pictured, but it's remote adjuster near the right side bag is not visible in our photos. We have ridden this bike around town, on the highway, and in commuter traffic. The word "smooth" is not a strong enough term to describe this inline six cylinder BMW engine. One of the coolest things (motor wise) is its ability to drop into the chugging low RPMs and still deliver perfectly smooth power and fantastic torque. This bike has a good set of tires and is ready for the riding season--ready for just about any trip on any paved road. The K1600GT sell for right around $30,000 from BMW. At $11,190 this bike is a fabulous deal, and with solid German engineering it is a bike one could likely ride trouble-free for decades to come.
* A note from owner as this is consignment bike:
“The bike's original electronic suspension has been replaced with custom Wilbers manually adjustable shocks front and rear. This is about a two thousand dollar modification which totally changed the character of the motorcycle. The rear has a remote adjustable preload knob on the right side, as well as a rebound adjustment. The shock and spring rate are designed with an unusually wide adjustment range, from a single 185 pound rider up to and including a 200 pound rider with 150 pound passenger and luggage for long trips. The shock preload rate can be further changed by adding or subtracting initial preload (requires simply removing the shock and cranking the preload down). Or, I have the original electronic (ESA) shocks sitting on a shelf in my garage. hey have about 17,000 miles on them, if I remember correctly. The buyer can have them if wanted.”
