Goodbye Old Friend, 2015 was the last year for the Mana GT
The new Mana 850 GT with ABS is an incredibly versatile motorcycle. With the innovative Sportgear transmission from the original Mana, the GT stays true to the original bike while improving the safety, range, and comfort.
At the heart of the Mana GT is the Sportgear transmission. This allows "twist and go" riding, giving riders of any skill level the confidence to ride any situation. Aprilia is known for their electrical innovation as much as their mechanical and that is where we really see the constant drive of the Mana shine
The SportGear Transmission.
With the choice of Sequential or Automatic modes, the rider can choose control and response via sequential mode, or uncontested seamless drive with the automatic mode. In sequential mode, the rider can choose to shift via paddles mounted on the left handlebar or the standard foot shifter. The Mana GT will still downshift if you forget. Couple this brilliance in on-road shifting with an incredibly flat torque curve from the 850cc v-twin engine and you've got a serious swiss army knife of a motorcycle.
Thoughts for the Long Road.
Aprilia's engineers didn't stop at the transmission. They gave the Mana GT 3 throttle modes to work with it's Ride by wire system to adapt to varying road conditions, and an ABS braking system allowing any rider to get the most out of the exceptional radially mounted calipers.
Chassis and bodywork design has evolved as well. The Mana GT still sports the under-seat fuel tank and spacious storage compartment (A full face helmet fits inside the motorcycle) of it's older sibling, but has grown a bikini-style fairing with an adjustable windshield. Touring on the Mana has never been this good. Comfortable, controlled, and agile handling comes from intelligent geometries and a combination aluminum and steel trellis frame.
There was no stone left unturned when Aprilia responded to an evolving market where manufactures need be aware of mobility needs, and the result is the Mana GT is one of a kind. Exceptional execution of style, versatility, and safety. Active and passive safety features plus the Mana's Sportgear transmission allow uncompromising concentration on the ride and navigating what lies ahead.
