2007 BMW R1200S

6,999.00
30,412 from new, which in BMW owner speak "barely broken in" which in many ways is how this one feels when ridden. The Ohlins suspension the previous owner added and fine tuned at both ends is very impressive in terms of giving a real sense of feel to a bike which was not know for feel but, rather for simple faith and trust in what the front tire is doing. I had a first year R1100S in a past life and it took me weeks to get to the poijnt where I could simply trust that the front tire would do as I asked of it, this R1200S feels NOTHING like that first generation BMW I rode back in the 90's. Tires are in excellent condition and have plenty of life left for even an aggressive rider to enjoy the heck out of the nice weather becoming us here in Central Texas for 2017. When I took the bike out this morning I was amazed by quite simply how fun and competent it is at EVERYTHING while also being about the most practical sport touring bike on the market.Nice touches I noticed included the enlarged side-stand pad to keep the stand from sinking into the hot asphalt of Texas summer roads and parking lots, the adjustable (for length no less) brake and clutch levers, low clutch effort, supremely predictable brakes, smooth power delivery and realistically in a world of 200+ bhp sport bikes this BMW has plenty of GO when the throttle is twisted without the need for a whole host of electronic stability rider aids. The transmission shifts very nicely and the final drive is perfect for daily driver type use or long weekends of remembering how to have fun again! The intake and exhaust are thankfully stock, not loud and not going to annoy passengers or neighbors. This is a fun bike for adults that has a tank with plenty of fuel capacity for plenty of range between fill-ups or not being annoyed by daily gas stops in a commuter cycle. Had I only a single word to describe the machine it would be FUN. Service costs are low on these machines due to easy access to common wear items and it has all the typical BMW options like heated grips plus some very tasty bling from Rizoma like the rearsets.AF1 Racing is your local source for OEM bikes, parts and service for these brands: Aprilia, Piaggio, Vespa, Moto Guzzi, Benelli, Norton, Zero and Ural Motorcycles.
